A contemporary twist on the old fairy tale of Cinderella, Prince Cinders brings us a male protagonist who envies his older brothers for their strength and hairy chests. Cinders has to clean up after them and has to stay home when it comes time for the disco. The fairy godmother of Cinderella is replaced by a young fairy girl who grants Cinders his wishes, and turns a can into a car so Cinders can get to the Rock N Royal Bash. Trade Prince Charming’s search for the owner of the slipper with a princess’ search for the owner of a pair of pants, left behind as Cinders ran away from her in shyness. Prince Cinders is a funny, enjoyable version of the old fairytale, and will delight the youngest readers.
